SUNSAL: A Collapsible Yoga Block Made for Yogis, by a Yogi

SUNSAL began with a simple problem: I wanted to bring my yoga practice with me, but the tools I needed weren’t made for the way I actually lived and traveled.

While packing for a yoga retreat with my long-time instructor, Rika Henry, I realized there was no easy way to bring bulky yoga blocks with me through weeks of travel in Europe. I searched for a portable yoga block . Something compact, supportive, and designed for yogis on the go, but the right option didn’t exist.

So I decided to create it.

SUNSAL is a collapsible yoga block made for yogis who want clean, travel-friendly support wherever they practice. It folds flat, opens into a sturdy block, and was designed with the same care, patience, and intention I try to bring to my own practice.

For me, SUNSAL is more than a product. It’s a reflection of what yoga has taught me: show up, stay committed, and bring support with you wherever the journey takes you.

    Purposeful Design, Personally Built

    SUNSAL is a personal project, a Black-owned business, and an independent brand fully owned by me. There are no outside investors or profit-hungry goals. Just one person with an idea, a deep love for yoga, and a desire to create something useful for the community.

    For over two years, I worked with engineers and designers to bring SUNSAL to life, refining the details until it felt thin, sturdy, portable, and easy to use.

    This block is a product of care, persistence, and practice.

Proper Handling and Assembly: Ensure the block is fully expanded and that the internal latches securely click into place before use. Confirm the block feels stable and secure before engaging in any yoga or fitness activities.

Use with Awareness: If you are new to using yoga blocks or similar fitness accessories, we recommend seeking guidance from a qualified yoga instructor or fitness professional. Improper use may lead to personal injury.

Safe Handling: Always handle the block by its designated grip surfaces and avoid contact with internal hinges and edges when collapsing or expanding, as edges may occasionally feel sharp.

Shipping and Returns

Here at SUNSAL, we’re a small business turning a big idea into reality, one yoga block at a time. As a team of one (or maybe two if you count the occasional coffee-powered helper), shipping happens on weekends. We like to think of it as a mindful practice – we take the time to ensure your order is handled with care. Once your package is en route, you’ll receive an email notification so you can track its journey to your door.

A few notes about shipping:

  • We currently ship within the U.S. only.
  • Orders placed during the week will ship out the following weekend.
  • Sorry, but we can’t ship to PO boxes or offer expedited shipping (for now).

Not satisfied with your SUNSAL yoga block? We accept returns within 14 days of receiving your order. Please initiate returns by emailing us at support@sunsal.co. Returned items eligible for a full refund will incur a handling fee of $8.95.

Warranty Information

SUNSAL offers a 3-Year Limited Warranty covering manufacturing defects on all yoga blocks when used appropriately and maintained according to our guidelines. If your yoga block shows defects related to materials or craftsmanship within three years of purchase under normal use conditions, SUNSAL will provide a replacement, limited to one replacement per original purchase.

This warranty exclusively covers yoga blocks purchased directly from SUNSAL or authorized retailers within the United States. Warranty claims are valid for the original purchaser only and do not extend to products used by commercial entities, yoga studios, hospitality establishments, or other businesses.

Warranty Exclusions: This warranty does not apply to:

  • Cosmetic wear that does not impact product function
  • Damage caused by improper handling, excessive force, misuse, or negligence
  • Damage from unauthorized cleaning products or methods (use only recommended cleaners or water)
  • Outdoor storage, prolonged exposure to elements, excessive moisture, or heat
  • Post-purchase modifications, folding the block incorrectly, or mishandling that compromises the internal mechanism
  • Lost or stolen items, or use for purposes other than yoga and wellness activities

Submitting a Warranty Claim: To initiate a warranty claim, contact SUNSAL Customer Support at support@sunsal.co, providing your proof of purchase and clear photos of the issue. SUNSAL will review and respond with next steps within 5 business days. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs.

The sole remedy provided under this warranty is the replacement of your product with an identical or equivalent yoga block at SUNSAL’s discretion. No cash refunds or alternative compensation will be offered.

This warranty represents SUNSAL’s entire liability for product defects and supersedes all other warranties, implied or expressed. SUNSAL is not liable for any incidental or consequential damages resulting from product usage. This warranty may vary by state law and is subject to future revision.
